What information do you send to your servers from my computer?
Unless you specifically choose to purchase our cloud-based Xobni One service,Xobni does not send email content, subject lines, or email account login and password information to our servers. Period. It's that simple.
Xobni checks regularly for updates on our servers. Xobni sends back completely anonymous usage information on what features of the product are most used, and you are not personally identified with this information. If Xobni encounters a problem, Xobni sends back an error report. Xobni does send a ping to our servers telling us that your Xobni client is being used, your email address, your IP address, how many invites have been sent and what version of Xobni you have.
Unless you opt out of 3rd party extensions within Xobni, there's a certain amount of information that must be sent from the Xobni client to our trusted, established partners. All information transfers are done through the individual APIs of our partners. You can disable these extensions at any time through the Xobni Options menu.
Below, you'll find a list of our 3rd party partners and the data that is transferred from Xobni to their servers to enable Xobni Extensions. Please keep in mind that this data is never used by Xobni for other purposes, nor will it be shared with other Xobni users.
LinkedIn: LinkedIn profile data is retrieved using the email addresses and names of your contacts. Your own LinkedIn profile is never altered by Xobni, and all LinkedIn privacy settings are strictly followed when viewing other profiles.

Yahoo! Mail: When you enable Yahoo! Mail integration within the Xobni client, you are prompted to log in to Yahoo! through a web browser. Once you have logged into your Yahoo! account, you will be giving the Xobni client access to all of your Yahoo! Mail email data, including the contents of your communications. Xobni won't ever see your password, since it is handled directly through Yahoo!, nor will your email contents be stored on a Xobni server. Within the Xobni client, you will remain logged in to your Yahoo! Mail account for two weeks. After two weeks you will be reminded to log in again. You can revoke the Xobni client's access to your Yahoo! Mail account at any time from your Yahoo! Mail control panel. You can also disable this feature within the Xobni client by changing the setting within the Xobni Options menu.
Yahoo! Web Search: (Xobni Version 1.7 and earlier) If you have enabled Yahoo! Web Search in the Options menu, and you perform a search in Xobni, Xobni passes your search string to Yahoo's search engine, and returns the first search result. There is no personally identifiable data sent in either direction, however Yahoo! may store your search query.
