Walt Mossberg (WSJ) “Xobni makes Outlook much faster and more useful”

Posted by Matt Brezina

We are happy to announce that Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal, and the #1 product review guru in the country has given Xobni a glowing review in the Wall Street Journal

See the article and video here

We had a great time meeting with Walt in DC last week. It was quickly obvious that he understood the size of the problem Xobni solves and he was excited about our approach. We couldn’t ask for for a bigger endorsement.

Some choice quotes:

Xobni turned my Outlook experience from one that was organized by messages and dates into one that was organized by people, relationships and histories.

I’ve been testing Xobni and I like it.

I found that it made Outlook much faster and more useful

Xobni is a smart addition to Outlook that makes email much more useful

Congratulations, Great jobs guys! I think you would have made Grandpa (and a lot us us) much happier if you also had a Mac/Entourage version in the works forks. Do we have any hope?

I read Walt’s column this morning and jumped up to download and install Xobni. After five minutes I love it. I’m a veteran of a number of software companies, large ones like Lotus, and two successful startups, and I must say that Xobni is one of the most important and useful pieces of software I’ve ever run across. It does data mining on our own most important database, our email. Highly useful right our of the box with a great UI, I see you guys going to great places. My only advice, hold out for a really big number when the big boys start making offers to buy your company.

Wow, congrats!! It’s gratifying to see established people like Mossberg really get the value you’re offering, esp. since it’s a fairly new concept. Onward an upward! :)

Seems to be a great product. When does a gmail version come out?

Hi guys, nice product! Saw it in the WSJ and downloaded it but it kept crashing Outlook so I had to take it off this morning in order to get to work. I use Vista on a vroom-vroom XPS system from Dell. Any suggestions?

This is a great news. I think You guys should also consider other social networks too like Orkut / Hi5 which are popular in APAC and have a huge userbase.

And if you can incorporate the Online / Offline status of the user that would be an added advantage.

Glad to hear about the integration with with Facebook as well. I read abot xobni in PCWorld so I was really thrilled to start using it with my Outlook. Just to improve the search in Outlook it’s worth it!

Tried Xobni and it worke3d well for 2 days, then locked up Outlook to the point it could not even send and error message. Removed it in order to get Outlook functional again. Seems it is not quite yet toilet trained and socialized.

Download it in seconds…such a treat to see smart org of ms-outlook email!!!!

Love to see ratio or % between send and received from in reports to see measure reciprocrating fluid communication.

I’ve invited many who have high volumes of email as I do and its just going to improve our means of using email to assimilate email info so much more sensible…so practical and is definitely improving how I communicate and my quality of life!

Thanks!

Your product is amazing but the users who are having trouble with it are the problem.

Please add another tool to your offerings that first tests a person’s Outlook and scores it based on how bloated it is. Then offer tips and walk them through the cleaning process. I have 8 years of emails in my Outlook and that’s why it caused my Outlook to crash. I haven’t had time to clean it out yet. When I do, I’ll install Xobni again.

I’d love to take one of those for a spin. We need a lambo rental service in Pittsburgh. Any takers.
