Paul, It sounds like you might be behind a proxy server. That currently prevents us from shipping updates. This issue is discussed in the Xobni community forum: http://community.xobni.com/showthread.php?t=761

I’m with Alessandro, the update doesn’t seem to work, and re-installing removes all the pictures I’ve (painstakingly added to contacts!

Any update on the update issue?

I was at a microsoft outlook training today. the trainer was telling the class how powerful microsoft desktop search is and how much it adds to outlook email search. By the end of the class I convinced at least 6 (out of 10 i think) to remove window search 3.0 and install xobni then and there. Impressed by Xobni’s performance, they ditched desktop search and installed Xobni!

This software is awesome!

Great tool…;)

But:

1. Auto-update doesn’t work.
2. If you want to upgrade manually, you download the setup but once launched, it tells you that an uninstall of the old version is required first.

Too time-consuming to keep up with the latest version…and since the product is in beta, this shoul definitely be addressed quickly…

This doesn’t really work well, does it? I mean, I go to the download page once, it gives me a link to 3644. I follow the same link a minute after, it gives me 3771. HOWEVER, at the same time, the latest version advertised on the forum is 3669. I mean WHY don’t you simply give out the latest version if there is already one. Why all the confusion???

The download pages “click here” link goes to the homepage and not to a download. Is a public beta over or something? Wondering if it’s still available.

The first time I downloaded Xobni, my computer froze. I then uninstalled it.

After the second time, I was prompted to download .netframe. It didn’t work. My computer just hung up. Too many resources were activated.

The third time, my computer was rendered in a zombie-like state. I uninstalled it the program.

I now have to reinstall Windows to get my computer running as it did -preXobni.

If I every try it again, it wil be well after the actual release.

A terrible experience.
