I'd have to agree with the Xobni folks on starting with Outlook. I tried Thunderbird but experienced enough bugs there that I ported my mailbox back to Outlook.

I will say though that I went back to Outlook 2003 rather than Outlook 2007 so I could continue to use the Lookout Freeware Search add-in. I'll be interested to see how the Xobni search feature compares with Lookout. (Xobni folks beware - I will compare the two!)

Hi Lalit, good question.

We started with Outlook because we realized Outlook users experience a lot of pain. We thought we could help. Also, this was a strategic business decision. Outlook dominates the business email market. This results in a very large potential user base, and a user base with good paths towards monetization.

Curious, why Outlook first. Why not Thunderbird? I know there will be a thunderbird plugin as well. Is it because it was c# and easier to implement with Outlook? Just wondering what your thought process on that was. More people use Outlook?

The current version as of 10-16-07 is build 2014.

You can view the build number you are currently running by going to the Xobni menu in Outlook and clicking on "About Xobni"

I got a mail from Xobni on Oct 1 that I'd be getting the download details for Xobni in the early part of that week. But it's been over ten days now. Any plans for shipping a copy to me!

Anybody who had problems with an earlier version should contact support@xobni.com and tell them about your situation. We'll take care of you.

Thanks for reaching out.

This sounds like a wonderful tool... especially for a guy who's over Outlook.

If I don't get an invite I don't know what I'm going to do with myself.
